My family spent Easter holidays in St. George.
Some observations:
1 – My youngest granddaughter (4) spent the entire time without saying five words to me. The reason is obvious. I’m the oldest, she’s the youngest. There are ten people between us, and all twelve of us are in one living area. I don’t think she can remember who I am. It just came to me – there are FOURTEEN of us, not twelve.
2 – I am sure that at least one thousand years from now, we’ll be living on Mars which is just like living in Saint George with the only difference being the temperature inversion. Same color, same rocky geography, about the same number of Mormons.
3 – My third to the youngest grandchild (10) is an authentically funny guy. Thursday, I asked him to turn on the NBA game. He ran through fifty channels before he finally got it. I yelled out, “leave it there, your so good.” He turned to me and said, “I’m good, but I have no idea what I’m doing.”
4 – My oldest granddaughter (16) is a tennis player. My second oldest granddaughter (16) is an ice skater. My oldest grandson (14) plays Grand Theft Auto on his computer. Tennis and ice skating I understand. Grand Theft Auto, I have absolutely no idea what’s going on there.
5 – On Easter morning, the adults, minus yours truly, planned an Easter egg hunt for the grandchildren. The kids were given hints to find treats in the condo, outside the condo, and places far a field of the condo. I heard the first hint and said, “I can’t understand the hint. The kids won’t understand it either.” By the time I got near the end of my sentence, the kids were off and running.
6 – I no longer worry about tomorrow, sufficient are the observations of the day. And thank goodness there is a pool.
