Green Tea: Lesson 19 The Skin You're In

RH

A note from Dr. Hendrix

The lifelong project of caring for our skin begins in our teens and never quite ends, and I wanted to offer our customers something better than another expensive cream. This lesson looks at green tea and complexion. I share it because feeling good in your own skin is a small daily dignity I wish for everyone.

Dr. Roger Hendrix · We share these stories so you can know the family behind GreenTeaHP.

The task of improving and maintaining your complexion begins in your early teen years and never really ends. Acne, wrinkles, blemishes, sunspots, etc. These are amplified by chemical makeups and lotions, exposure to sunlight, and pollution. So, we spend thousands upon thousands of dollars over the years on creams, night creams, moisturizers, masks, peels, oils, toners, exfoliators, and any number of additional “treatments”. We believe that such a long-term concern, begs a long-term solution. Could green tea be that solution? Let’s take a look at a few things green tea has been shown to do:
  • reduce acne
  • decrease hormonal activity
  • enhances detoxification
  • reduces inflammation
  • improves natural elasticity
Green tea is rich in antioxidants, specifically EGCG, an antioxidant unique to green tea, which protects the body from the free radicals. Free radicals are harmful particles in your body associated with accelerated effects of aging. It is often an afterthought, that we can improve our complexion from the inside out, but this can be the most effective and least damaging way to do so. By drinking green tea, you are choosing prevention by addressing the problem, rather than fighting off the symptoms.
