A note from Dr. Hendrix
After the holidays I jotted down a string of small observations — that we all live in boxes now, that a five-star hotel feels like a three-star one after three days, that anger is awfully hard to undo. This is that little collection. I wrote it because a life’s worth of noticing tends to distill into a handful of plain, stubborn truths.

If you like one place, you usually like another place.
But, if you don’t like it here, you probably won’t like it there.
Boats aren’t used a lot.
One thing we all share about the places we live in these days: they’re all boxes.
It’s hard to undue the effects of anger.
Five star hotels are like three star hotels after three days.
Love, like happiness, is a sweet drug.
Show up. Everything will be ok.
The little universe, of atoms, “adjusts to the scientist’s experiments.”
That’s why at times I would swear the environment is moving according to my wishes.
